Evan is 3 weeks old today. I am starting to feel normal again and even ran some errands on my own this weekend. The major triumph of the weekend was our morning trip to Costco with both boys. We made it out of the house quickly and it almost seems doable. Now, if Lance was just home every day to help with everything! Maybe we can save some of the errands for the weekends....
The night went well last night. It is nice to have Lance in the room with us on the weekend nights, especially when he wakes up and chats with me while I nurse. I don't blame him for sleeping through it though. I shared a dream with Lance that I thought was very interesting. I was in an old truck that was headed down hill with some kind of faulty brake or steering system. Lance was riding alongside of the truck on a unicycle, trying to jump into the truck to help me navigate. All the while we were going downhill quickly! When I described the dream to him, it hit me what it represented. It was clearly out experience as the new parents of 2 children! Lance suggested that the image would make a nice painting with the title, "Parenthood".
We even managed a joke during the night. We had decided to have Evan sleep in the bathroom so that we could not hear every little noise that he made (don't be alarmed, it sounds harsh but the bathroom is right near our bed and its really a very nice bathroom). Lance decided to play a CD of womb sounds to help Evan fall asleep. I noted that we could appropriately call it the "bathwomb". ROFL!
Update on our challenges that were set for yesterday:
I went to the mall!
We did not give Evan a bath, nor did we touch the closet :(
